Men’s formal clothing is subject to several conventions. It is the reason why men should be aware of the different accessories that can be used with their formal suits. The following are tips on how to accessorize tuxedos without looking overdressed.

Step 1– Buy a dress set for your tuxedo.

The dress set must include at least three vest buttons, two cuff links, and at least two shirt studs.

Step 2– Choose the right bow tie.

You should choose a bow tie made of fabric that compliments the trim of your dinner jacket. If your jacket is made of woven and ribbed fabrics, you can wear a bow tie in grosgrain trims. However, if your jacket is made of satin, it would be best if matched with a satin bow tie.

Step 3– Be careful in choosing the color for a bow tie.

Most men prefer black bow tie because it goes with any color. However, if you choose a bow tie in other colors such as blue and purple, don’t forget to coordinate it with the color of your cummerbund and handkerchief.

Step 4– Carry a handkerchief.

Neatly fold your handkerchief before putting it into your breast pocket. Remember, a handkerchief is very important, especially if you are walking down the road. You can use handkerchief to protect yourself from dust by covering your nose.

Step 5– Wear something on your trousers.

You can wear suspenders or braces above the first pleat of the trousers.

Step 6– Buy tuxedo slippers.

To complete your outfit, wear comfortable and stylish tuxedo slippers. Buy high quality tuxedo slippers that can be used for various fancy occasions.

Step 7– Keep your outfit tame.

If you want to add more accessories, analyze first if it will not overwhelm your overall look. Try to limit your accessories if you want to have simple but elegant look.
